MORIA | Final Scene VFX

For the final shot of the last episode of MORIA, Wanka Cine brought me in to create the 17-second 3D sequence that closes the entire Netflix series. The scene opens on a live-action pull-back from the lead character. The camera passes through a glass dome, and from there everything is CG: the camera keeps pulling out over a stylized Buenos Aires, past landmarks like the Obelisco and Avenida Corrientes, until the city becomes a planet drifting through a glam, glitter-filled universe.
Recreating the Círculo Militar
The final scene was shot at the Círculo Militar, one of the most iconic historic buildings in Buenos Aires. Since the CG had to pick up exactly where the live-action camera left off, the first step was rebuilding the building in 3D, matching its architecture and proportions so the jump from plate to CG would read as one continuous camera move.
Look Development - A World Made of Glitter and Cardboard
MORIA has a surreal, magical tone, and a handmade miniature of the city appears throughout the series, built from cardboard buildings covered in glitter. My 3D had to feel like a direct extension of that practical model, not a separate CG world. Buildings, textures and lighting were all designed to feel crafted and tactile, as if the camera had simply kept pulling back over the same miniature.
That same glam fantasy language carried into outer space: glitter planets, sparkling nebulas and particle clouds that feel handmade rather than photoreal.
